Our graphic designer, Caroline, recently created a series of designs based on some of the states that make up Appalachia and some famous landmarks from those states. Since we live and work right here in Kentucky, it was natural for us to start here.
The Bluegrass State
Kentucky is full of beautiful scenery, so it wasn't easy to pick just one thing to highlight for this collection.
Lachian's headquarters is in Corbin, Kentucky. Just a little ways down the road from us is "The Niagara of the South," Cumberland Falls. So naturally, when we think of landmarks for our state we think of Cumberland falls.
This waterfall is the only place left in the world where you can see a moonbow, which is basically a rainbow made by the light of the moon. It can only be seen when the moon is full or nearly full and the sky is clear. I've personally gone to Cumberland Falls in hopes of seeing the moonbow a handful of times and I've only seen it once.
As an Appalachian lifestyle brand, we're constantly inspired by the things that make this region unique. Sometimes our inspiration is the dialect of English we hear people speaking, and sometimes it's a specific landmark in our region. This "The Bluegrass State" design focuses on a specific geographic feature that is near and dear to our heart, but there are tons of other things about the culture and spirit of Appalachia that inspire us daily.
